I disagree with the author; non-scripted television doesn’t need to change unless the audience demands it. And reality TV did not kill this man. Working as an associate producer in non-scripted television, I know that we have the ability to pick and choose the “best” content we shoot in order to tell a story; however for those people appearing on a reality show, being on television just amplifies or enhances even minute instances of what’s already there (personal issues, beliefs, motivations, actions).
